Aim: The tryptophan metabolic enzyme systems of indoleamine 2,3-dioxygenase (IDO) and tryptophanyl-tRNA synthetase (TrpRS), which are involved in L-tryptophan catabolism and its use in protein synthesis, respectively, are associated with the neuroinflammation and immune response to acute cerebral ischemia.Hesperetin, a citrus flavanone, is known to help prevent tissue damage from oxidative stress in the brain.
