Translation material of the report is chosen from Chapter 8 "Crowdfunding" of the business book Bold:How to Go Big, Create Wealth and Impact the World. The author introduces crowdfunding’s development background, crowdfunding types, and gives two cases analysis based on reward crowdfunding, and provides specific steps instructing entrepreneurs how to perfectly conduct a crowdfunding campaign. The traditional financing modes can’t meet the needs of entrepreneurs any more. And the developing Internet provides a platform for the emergence of crowdfunding. Crodwfunding opens a new gate for entrepreneurs to gain fund support from as many investors as possible and realize their start-up dreams. For the entrepreneurs who have had an innovative idea, Peter H. Diamandis offers constructive suggestions on the type of crowdfunding, the amount of crowdfunding, the length of campaign, the propaganda means, the incentive mechanisms and the proceeding in late period, which are regarded as a valuable treasure.This report comprises three parts. The first part is introduction, in which the translator has introduced development situation and trend of Crowdfunding at home and abroad as well as realistic meaning of crowdfunding’s development. What’s more, the translator has outlined problems to be resolved in this report. The second part is the main body of this report, in which the translator has depicted the whole translation process and conducted an elaborated analysis on problems and adopted approaches. The third part is conclusion. The translator has summed up application of domestication and her own reflections. The main body of this report can be divided into the following three chapters:The first chapter is task description. The translator has given a brief introduction to the original texts’ author and content. Besides, text style and language features of the original texts have also been elaborated.The second chapter is process description, including comprehension of the original texts, preliminary work for term list and translation theory, formulation and execution of translation plan and modification of the translation texts. Before translating, the translator should conduct extensive reading and intensive reading to have a full and precise understanding to the original texts. At the same time, she should underline new words and terms to make a term list, choose proper translation theory and translation methods based on the type and style of the original texts. And then the translator should make an accessible translation plan and strictly execute it. In the translation process, the translator ought to think over the translation of words and sentences to enhance readability of translation texts on the premise of ensuring its accuracy. Modification to the translation texts includes self-modification and classmate-modification.The third chapter is case analysis. Under the guidance of domestication strategy, the translator should analyze problems from lexical, syntactic and semantic levels, and then provide proper solutions. At the lexical level, in order to make the meaning of words accurate and clear to understand, the translator has adopted extension and conversion methods. At the syntactic level, in order to make the translation texts smooth and fluent, conforming to expressive habits of target language, and to improve readability of translation texts, methods of division, addition and conversion have been adopted. At the semantic level, the translator has placed great emphasis on semantic coherence.
