张家界市永定区汪家寨村村委会组织的一个景区考察小组,在观音山一个险峻的悬崖上,发现了一个被封死的洞门,(村上八十岁以上的老人都不知此洞是何时被封的)根据封洞时所砌成的乱石块及泥浆断定,此洞已被封达数百年,这引起了考察小组组长李慈祥(村支书)、副组长曹玉(村长)、总顾问张金长(退休干部)等一行的极大兴趣。村民们不畏艰难,将洞门打开。当他们挖掘不到两三米时,在主洞旁的一个小耳洞里,掏出数件搁在岩孔中的金银珠宝,送交湖南省文物局鉴定,这批珠宝是元明时期的宫廷饰物,分别属国家二级保护文物和国家三级保护文物,价值达7000余万元。令人惊叹的发现,吸引了本刊记者。2002年3月 1日,我们专程从长沙赶到永定区汪家寨村观音山,对此事件进行了追踪采访。
