The economy is closely linked with human activities and social relations, which are closely linked with the production and distribution of commodities and the mutual services provided by people. In the United States, we live in a capitalist society, which motivates profitability and raises productivity, and determines many aspects of social life. Under this system, one of the purposes of production is to create surplus products for reinvestment. This reinvestment in turn boosts the economy. The capitalist system is based on the market economy and the currency plays an important role. Money can be obtained by making money by lending, leasing land or other property, and selling goods. Workers earn their wages as a result of their participation in productive activities and use their wages to purchase the required goods in return for the services they need.
