Are our preferences for food based on tradition or genes? To break this mystery, geneticists began their journey of exploration along the ancient Silk Road. People usually decide what kind of food to eat according to their own food preferences, and food preferences long-term sustainability have become people’s eating habits. In the long run, eating habits evolved from food preferences have an indelible impact on our health. In today’s world, the high prevalence of obesity and type 2 diabetes in the general population and even in younger adults is a testament to the validity of the notion that “our health is largely linked to our food preferences.” Because of this, food preferences have become an important scientific topic.
