清朝的玉器鉴赏大家陈性是无锡人,无锡江阴人,现在本土的文字记述中很少提及过他。无锡人早已经遗忘了这样一个曾经鲜活的人物,或者说,无锡人竟从来也没有记忆过这样一位落拓的文人——他已经“失踪”一个半世纪以上了。现在世人偶尔会知道他,是因为他的那部唯一流传的著作,其实字数也不算多的谈玉器鉴赏的著作——《玉纪》。这是我们民族,这样一个拥有悠久玉文化的民族的首部玉器鉴赏专著。后人翻检乡邦文献也找寻不到关于陈性的只言 Appreciation of the Qing Dynasty jade Chen Xing people who are Wuxi, Wuxi Jiangyin, and now rarely mentioned in his local account of his writing.
