传说关公显灵助战,援朝的中国明军大败日军,取得胜利。藉以感谢和纪念关公的显灵助战,在汉城建了第一座关庙。中国的神宗皇帝听说后特拨款到汉城为关公建了第二座关庙,并有一些国内关庙所没有的特色。作为一名被神化了的人物,由于显灵助战的传说,关公久受朝鲜君臣的尊崇,也巧妙地表达了韩军的抗日意识,而民间故事,则反映了关公信仰的深入民间。
Legend has it that Kung Kung was aided by the war and that the Ming army of China who defeated the DPRK defeated the Japanese army to victory. In order to thank and commemorate the patronage of Guan Gong, in Seoul built the first Guan Temple. The Emperor Shenzong of China heard that the post-special fund was allocated to Seoul for the construction of the second Guan Temple and a number of features not found in the domestic Guan Temple. As a deified figure, Guan Gong has long been respected by Korean monarchs and cleverly expressed the anti-Japanese awareness of the ROK army because of the legends of heroic assistance. The folk tales reflect the deep folk belief of the Kungkun people.
