《英语学习》1994年12月号第64页A Comet Bearing Down on Jupiter一文中有一句:“It appears as a dense,linear bar very close to 1 arcminute long~(16),oriented roughly east-west.”(第66页倒7行)。该页注16:“指彗星长度。arc是弧光,1 arcminute long即弧光1分钟所传播的距离……。” 这个注显然把arcminute同lightyear的词义构成相提并论,显得很牵强。

Page 16 of this page: “Refers to the length of the comet. arc is the arc, 1 arcminute long is the distance spread by the arc in 1 minute....” This note is obviously far-fetched by comparing arcminute with the word structure of lightyear.
