受上世纪七八十年代澳大利亚逆向反思土著与白人关系这一潮流的影响,《吉米·布莱克史密斯之歌》这部小说对殖民关系中个体文化生存状态的关注,未获得评论界充分认识。本文从后殖民的视角,借用“陌生人”的社会学概念,通过文本分析,认为小说一方面谴责了殖民者对土著部族的文化殖民,另一方面,也从本体论上消解了白人/黑人、殖民者/被殖民者、文明/野蛮等二元对立。同时,本文认为,小说将“陌生人”作为一种自在的文化生存状态提出来,为后殖民的文化身份研究增添了新的维度。
Influenced by the tide of Australian retrospecting the relationship between natives and whites in the seventies and eighties of the last century, “the song of Jimmy Blacksmith” has not gained the full appreciation of the critics for its concern about the individual cultural survival in colonial relations. From the perspective of post-colonialism, borrowing the sociological concept of “stranger ” and through textual analysis, this paper argues that while the novel condemns the colonial colonization of indigenous tribes on the one hand and on the other hand, Blacks, colonizers / colonists, civilizations / barbarism and other binary opposition. At the same time, this article argues that the novel puts “stranger ” as a kind of comfortable state of cultural survival and adds a new dimension to the study of postcolonial cultural identity.
