In 1973, Latt reported that lymphocytes were allowed to grow for two periods in a culture medium containing 5-Bromodeoxyuridine (Brdu), and because thymine was replaced by BrdU incorporation during DNA synthesis Fluorescent dye 33258Hoechst staining, clearly visible under the fluoroscope two chromatid chromatid fluorescent light with different intensity
