老石坎水电站2号机组额定容量800kW,由于原设计中选用水轮机设计水头太高,造成机组长期偏离设计工况运行,效率低下,出力严重不足,经济效益较差,因此于1997年2月,对2号机进行改造,更换新型号转轮增加过流量,提高效率和出力;更换导水机构为加大转轮直径腾出空间;调整尾水管型线,加大尾水管水平部分,增加一段扩散管,并将尾水管倾斜插入尾水渠,提高动能回收率。改造总投资23万元,通过改造提高出力156kW,单位千瓦投资1474元,改造一年就收回全部投资,取得可观的效益,表1个。
