The article “Developing our brains” ends with the notion of “intuition,” but gives no explanation. Intuitive Western understanding is defined by Descartes in “The Guiding Principles of Inquiry Into Truth”: In the process of learning mathematics, for example, if our mind is concerned with the argument of a proposition, we will from its premise to its Conclusions, repeatedly reviewed many times, and finally reached a realm of familiarity, is the ability to see conclusions directly from the premises. Descartes said that this is “intuition” (derived from the English word “” intuition "in Latin). This is of course a typical Western understanding.
