中国原子能科学研究院是我国著名的多学科综合性核科学技术研究机构,中国原子能事业的发祥地和摇篮。它受中国核工业总公司和中国科学院双重领导。其前身是成立于1950年的中国科学院近代物理研究所,1958年我国第一座研究性重水反应堆和第一台回旋加速器建成后,改名为中国科学院原子能研究所,1984年更名为中国原子能科学研究院。著名科学家吴有训、钱三强、王淦昌、戴传曾和中青年科学家孙祖训教授曾先后任院(所)长,现任院长樊明武教授。
