Optimization of the Extraction Technology of Total Saponins in Lonicera fulvotomentosa Hsu. Et. S. C

[Objective] The paper was to optimize the extraction technology for total saponins in Lonicera fulvotomentosa Hsu. Et. S.C. Cheng. [Method] Active ingredient content of α-hederasaponin content of total saponins was determined by HPLC, taking α-hederin content as the criterion. [Result] The order of effect factors was: decocting times > water-adding amount > soaking hours > decocting hours, that was, decocting times had the most important impact on the decocting conditions, followed by water-adding amount > soaking hours > decocting hours. The optimal solution was that L. fulvotomentosa did not need soaking, plus 10 times water and decocted three times, each time for 1.0 h. Analysis of variance results showed that water-adding amount and decocting times had important significance on content of α-hederasaponin (PA=0.034<0.05, PB =0.020<0.05), while soaking hours and decocting hours had no significance on the content of α-hederasaponin(PC=0.500>0.05, PD=0.264>0.05), which was consistent with the visual analysis.
