Biomedical segmented polyetherurethane(SPEU)elastomers are composite poly-mers with microphase separation structure.Various attempts of introducing ionicgroups into SPEU have been carried out for the improvement of their blood compati-bilities.We here report the mechanical and anticoagulant properties.Two series of sulfooctyl pendant groups containing segmentedpolyetherurethanes with well defined fine structure have been synthesized in our lab-oratory.The sulfooctyl groups were exactly located at the hard segments when theSPEUs were prepared from the reaction of polytetramethylene glycol(PTMG) 1000-4,4’diphenylmethane diisocyanate (MDI) oligomers with N-sulfoalkyl diethanolamine

Varyious attempts of introducing ionic groups into SPEU have been carried out for the improvement of their blood compatibilities. We here report the mechanical and anticoagulant properties.
