After 40 years of hard work in the aftermath of the war, the Federal Republic of Germany has developed into an economic power whose achievements have been hailed as a miracle. Its gross domestic product was 1 trillion U.S. dollars (19.585 trillion marks) in 1986, second only to the United States and Japan. In 1986, exports reached 243.3 billion U.S. dollars, surpassing the U.S. (217.2 billion U.S. dollars) and Japan (210.8 billion U.S. dollars), ranking first in the world. After the Federal Republic of Germany economy can be quickly restored and developed, for many reasons. Many people think that it is mainly to solve two problems: First, capital, and second, talent. In the early postwar period, the U.S. Marshall planned to provide huge assistance to it. It attached great importance to the accumulation of funds from foreign trade and the establishment of a financial policy suitable to its national conditions. Technical personnel in the Federal Republic of Germany is based, and retained in the war. On this basis, the Federal Republic of Germany attaches great importance to vocational education and technical training after the war.
