歌德作品在中国的传播始于清末洋务运动时期,距今仅有一百多年。期间随着我国国情和文坛风向的变化和起落,终于迎来了现今百花齐放的局面。歌德在中国的接受史共可分为五个阶段:译介初期(1920年以前)、“五四”之后的译介高潮(1920—1937)、抗日战争到新中国成立的余波(1937—1949)、新中国成立到“文革”时期的低迷(1949—1977)以及现代的繁荣期(1977—至今)。
The dissemination of Goethe’s works in China began at the time of the Westernization Movement in the late Qing Dynasty, only a hundred years ago. As China’s national conditions and literary trends during the ups and downs during the period, finally ushered in the current situation of flourishing. The history of Goethe’s acceptance in China can be divided into five stages: the initial stage of translation (1920), the climax of translation (1920-1937) after the May Fourth Movement, the aftermath of the War of Resistance Against Japan to the founding of New China (1937 -1949), the downturn (1949-1977) during the founding of New China and the “Cultural Revolution” (1949-1977), and the modern boom period (1977-present).
