The method of preparing the electrets with uniform surface potential by the method of grid corona polarization has been popular in China and abroad for a long time, but the physical properties of this method have not been correctly described. In this paper, the working principle of the gate control surface potential is elucidated from the principle of molecular motion and electrostatics, which makes a significant improvement on the gate corona polarization device. At atmospheric pressure, the free path of corona-generated ions is on the order of 10 to (-7) meters, whereas the corona-polarizing device typically has a pole pitch
