“Pointed Fir Tree Hometown” is a classic masterpiece of the famous American “native literature” of the 19th century Sarah. Since its publication, it has been interpreted by scholars in different aspects and at different depths, and most critics have interpreted it from the perspective of ecological criticism. In the 1960s, with the rise of the study of American female literature, the novel succeeded in arousing the interest of feminists. However, the idea of bisexuality reflected in this work is seldom explored, so the purpose of this article is to interpret it from the perspective of bisexuality. Through this interpretation, the author aims to clarify that the “spire of fir-tree township” embodies the pursuit of the ideal personality model of “gender harmony,” and the subversion of the traditional model of men and women.
