From both scientific and technical standpoints, it is a very important process to color anodized aluminum. Several color technologies have been recommended and these technologies have evolved into important industrial methods and remain one of the most active areas in the aluminum industry. We will describe electrolytic coloring techniques in these technologies. By electrolytic coloring, some inorganic material is deposited in the pores of the anodized layer; these inorganics may be pure metals or one or more oxides or hydroxides of the metals. Until recently, the kind of color produced still existed
