The problem of selecting words, including the selection of synonyms, is a problem that is often encountered in translation into English. When condition and term are used as “conditional” solutions, they are synonyms. This is very clear to everyone. However, in different language environments, when translating the word “conditions”, we quickly discover that these two semantic synonyms are far from meeting actual needs. At this time, we must relax our horizons and carry out more words. Selecting can make the translation easy to understand. This kind of word that does not have a clear “conditional” meaning literally, but can form an equivalence relationship with “conditions” in a specific conception is a synonym in translation, or “a synonym in a broad sense”. From the perspective of English translation of commonly used Chinese words, it seems more important to pay attention to the study and choice of generalized synonyms. Let us examine in detail what English words form the broad sense of synonymy with “conditions.”
