Objective: To explore the prevalence of hypertension in harbor workers and its influencing factors. Methods: The international standardized cardiovascular disease epidemiological survey method was used to investigate 10256 workers and staff of Qingdao Port from 18 to 54, including 7,695 men and 2,161 women. Results: The prevalence of hypertension was 2.65% in males and 10.38% in females, all higher than the prevalence in Shandong Province in 1991. The rates of diagnosis, treatment and control of male hypertension were 41.2%, 22% and 14.2% respectively; women were 61.5%, 47% and 30.0% respectively. Male smoking and drinking rates were 65.9% and 53.3% respectively. The mean body mass index (BMI) for men and women was 2 4.4 kg / m2 and 23.6 kg / m2, respectively. The mean BMI for men and women 45 to 54 years old was 25.0 kg / m2 and 25.3 kg / m2, respectively. Multiple regression analysis showed that age, BMI, WHR, HR, alcohol consumption, family history of hypertension and blood pressure showed a significant positive correlation, smoking and blood pressure was negatively correlated. BMI has the greatest impact on blood pressure. The BMI was increased by 1 standard deviation (3.52 kg for men and 3.4 kg for women), and systolic blood pressure was increased by 3.38 / 2.884 mmHg for men and 4.2 5 / 3.0 mmHg for women. Diastolic blood pressure was elevated in men at 2.84 mmHg and in women at 3.00 mmHg. Conclusion: The prevalence of hypertension in Qingdao Port workers is higher than that in Shandong Province. The awareness of hypertension, treatment rate and control rate in male are lower than those in female. BMI is an important factor affecting blood pressure
