海外华侨作为一个文学创作群体,涵化着中国传统文化的品质和中国经验,其创作囊括原乡、异乡,离散、怀旧、文化身份、国籍认同等诸多精神文化母题。21世纪,海外华侨创作进入喷薄期,以严歌苓、虹影、张翎、袁劲梅、苏炜、陈谦、王瑞芸、陈河、张惠雯等为代表的新华文文学书写,直书中国经验、中国文化与中国身份,以中西文化交融的视角讲述中国人的故事,显示出有别以往的价值征象。《人民文学》曾于 Overseas Chinese, as a group of literary creations, have embraced the qualities and Chinese experience of Chinese traditional culture.
