香港《南华早报》1月23日发表题为准备对付亚洲毁灭性的定时炸弹一文说,泰国是第一批沦为艾滋病牺牲品的国家之一,艾滋病现在开始在世界人口最稠密的亚洲肆虐。帕巴南博寺是泰国最大的艾滋病患者收容所,这里聚集着近80名等死的艾滋病患者,其中有10多个和尚,他们有的是被赶出寺院的。现在,像帕巴南博寺这样的惨状在整个亚洲变得越来越常见,艾滋病在亚洲正进入一个越来越引人注目的新阶段。
On January 23, the South China Morning Post published an article entitled Preparing for the Destructive Time Bomb in Asia, saying that Thailand is one of the first countries to become a victim of AIDS. AIDS is now raging in the world’s most populous part of Asia. Patan Nam Bo Temple is Thailand’s largest shelter for AIDS patients, where gathered nearly 80 people died of AIDS, including more than 10 monks, some of them were evicted from the monastery. Now, the horrors such as Papandangbo Temple are becoming more common across Asia, and AIDS is entering a new phase of increasing attention in Asia.
