《内蒙古自治区杨树人工速生丰产用材林栽培指数表的编制》是利用数理统计学、测数学原理,通过对大量的野外调查资料进行分析、整理,以林分平均高和林龄的相关关系编制出的。为以后其它树种的人工速生丰产用材林栽培指数表的编制提供了一种可行的科学方法,编制栽培指数表的目的在于利用科学方法评价林分生产力高低,为合理选择造林地和确定适宜集约经营强度提供科学依据,在国内外《编制杨树人工速生丰产用材林栽培指数表》也可以说是初次赏识本文的实用性更主要的目的在于对最近(1989、3、16)由内蒙古自治区标准计量局发布的《杨树人工速生丰产用材林标准》提供林业管理部门和生产单位执行中必不可少的技术方法和工具材料,否则难以执行《标准》。
