The Corso Mountains are located east of the Sierra Nevada, just south of the Owens Valley in California. The major volcanic periods of the Causo Mountains occur about 6m.y., 4-2.5m.y., And later than 1m.y. ago. The period of Pliocene (4-2.5m.y ago) was the most important period at that time. During this period, 30km ~ 3 basalt to high silicon rhyolite magma was ejected. Basalt originates from a number of single-generative volcanic passages in the eastern part of the mountain range. Andesite and dacite typically originate from the volcanic complex within the basalt region, whereas rhyolite and high-silica rhyolite are derived from a large acidity center.
