本文以生态批评和原型批评等为理论框架,以小说《典仪》男主人公的精神创伤治疗为线索,以人与自然的分裂观和整体观对于精神创伤治疗的不同态度为方法,说明西方传统医学倡导理性,也需要分析非西方文化的特定历史文化因素,才能在更广泛意义上被接受。美国印第安神话反映的印第安医学关于人与神、人与自然、人与人相互联系的整体观概念不仅限于美国印第安文化本身,而且是任何一种文化、传统生存、发展的基础。
