人们发现,如今出售的瓜果,如西红柿(番茄)虽个个红艳欲滴,但口感反不如从前香甜。这是什么原因呢?蔬菜研究人员发现,现在瓜果从培植到开花结果,整个过程中,除了化肥,还要使用植物生长素和农药等多种化学物品。这些东西的使用,虽缩短了瓜果的生长周期,促进了农作物的商品成熟。即外观上的成熟,虽然对人体健康无害,但却把瓜果的自然成熟过程改变了,也就是说瓜果并未达到真正的生理成熟。又如西瓜,看样子熟了,但瓜籽却是白的,口味不如从前,也是这个缘故。所以如今不论瓜果,甚至蔬菜,味道都变得不自然,不香了。
