水杉Metasequoia glyptostroboides结实年龄较迟,一般25～30年开始结实。长乐林场50年代初引种的水杉,目前树高18～20m,胸径50～70cm,近年来才开始少量结实。用本砧嫁接方法建立无性系种子园或母树林,结实年龄也比较迟。1978年,长乐林场用本砧嫁接建立种子园20亩,迄今已是第10年,树势生长良好,但不见有结实。为了促进水杉提早结实,我们自1983年起,以杉木为砧木,进行水杉异砧嫁接试验,获得了良好效果。在嫁接后的第2年就开始了结实。现将结果简报如下:
Metasequoia glyptostroboides Metacarpustroboides late age, usually 25 to 30 years began to grow strong.
