茶树作为一种生物体,为其本身的生长发育与繁殖,必须进行光合作用合成糖。从糖开始,经EMP、TCA、PPP等途径进行降解和末端氧化,为蛋白质、脂肪、核酸的代谢提供能源和碳架,这是所有植物体所必需的,也是主要的一级代谢,称为初级代谢。相对的,以初级代谢的一些关键中间产物为起始物,再进一步合成积累某些使该物种具有特殊表现的生化成分。这种二级代谢过程,即是次级代谢。
