This article summarizes our developments in smart chromatography, including the two major components of hardware and software.Firstly, the first part reviews the development of thin-tube HPLC columns, non-extractable GC capillary columns, valveless switching technology, Combined detector and fast-scan UV detector. The second part includes three application softwares: retention value prediction, optimal operation condition prediction and full-spectrum simulation software, and prove the correctness of the retention value equation with a large number of experiments. These equations are used for qualitative analysis and selection of optimal conditions. Examples are given in the paper.
