The trace elements in soils and forest litters of soils and forest litters under different rock masses and 14 plots under different stands in the southern subtropical forest of China were investigated and analyzed. The effects of trace elements (boron, molybdenum, copper, zinc, Iron, manganese) geochemical characteristics, and its distribution in the parent rock --- soil - forest system. The results show that the total amount of soil trace elements mainly depends on the type of rock, weathering and soil formation and other factors. In addition to lithology, the impact of stand type (fir, loblolly pine and oak) on the effective amount of trace elements is also evident. There was a significant correlation between the total amount and the effective amount of the four elements of molybdenum, copper, zinc and manganese in forest soils, while there was no obvious linear or nonlinear relationship between the total amount and the effective amount of iron. The effective amount were maintained at 0 30mg · kg-1 or so, regardless of the total amount of how much. Different mother rocks not only affect the content of trace elements in soil, but also affect the status of trace elements in litter of corresponding stands.
