玉米茎腐病菌 (Fusarium graminearum和Pythiumaphanidermatum)产生的毒素对玉米种子萌发、胚根与胚芽的生长以及幼苗生长均有抑制作用。赤霉菌毒素对种子萌发抑制作用比瓜果腐霉菌强 ;赤霉菌毒素滤液对胚芽和胚根生长的抑制作用在低浓度时低于瓜果腐霉菌 ,在高浓度时高于瓜果腐霉菌 ;瓜果腐霉菌粗提纯毒素对胚根和胚芽的抑制率都高于赤霉菌 ,用赤霉菌毒素滤液处理玉米幼苗 ,根系变褐色、腐烂 ,叶片变褐且产生典型的萎蔫症状
