本文首先回顾了中国术语工作的现状,其次描述了加拿大术语工作趋向,并简短介绍了加拿大的《术语大词典》。在作者提出的建议中,主要强调了以下几点:对基础学科的术语标准化和对科技新术语和人文学科术语的描述工作,要加大政府投入,对后者还应建立常设机构;在网上提供免费的术语词典以应用户的急需,并在网上建立术语论坛,动员用户参与术语工作;重视术语定义的撰写,因为定义是建立术语系统的基础,也是用户最迫切要求的内容;利用现代技术构建综合知识框架以利标引和检索,因为人类知识形成一个庞大的多维网络,而不是如一般分类系统所表示的树状结构。
This article first reviews the current status of terminology work in China, followed by a description of the work trends in Canadian terminology and a brief introduction of Canada’s “terminology dictionary.” Among the suggestions put forward by the author, the following points are mainly emphasized: the standardization of terminology for basic disciplines and the description of new terminology and humanities terminology for science and technology should increase government input, and the latter should also establish permanent institutions.
