On the stage of Chinese opera, Bao Gong has always been the favorite and commendable artistic image of the general public. This was a historical figure on the political stage of the Northern Song Dynasty. Since he entered the literary works of folklore and various genres, he has varied in appearance and expression in different oral and written forms by different writers of different ages. In comparison, it is necessary to count Yuan Gong’s character as the most democratic and popular person. Among them, the image of Bao Gong in the anonymous “Chenzhou Mi” was most vivid and full of personality, which fully reflected the people’s aesthetic ideal of honest government in the Yuan Dynasty. It deserved attention and research. Therefore, this paper attempts to make a preliminary discussion of this image and its aesthetic value.
