In the first quarter of 2001, print media made a total of nearly 7 billion yuan of advertising revenue. The first quarter was the weakest of the ad markets in a year, as we can see from the advertising costs for each of the first quarter. During the Spring Festival, advertisers in most sectors of industries such as tourism, catering, transportation, and commercial circulation increased their advertising expenses. Advertising expenses of most other industries reduced their advertising costs during this period, resulting in a significant increase in advertising revenue of print media during the Spring Festival This is the same as the previous year, which is lower than in other months.
