本文以非英语专业的中国学生为研究对象,以大学四、六级考试为测量工具,进行有关背诵策略的实验研究。经过18周的实验发现:背诵课文对提高学生的六级成绩无明显作用。根据实验结果,结合背诵的特点、非英语专业的大学英语教学的主要教学目标和本科生英语学习的特点,得出的结论是以培养英语阅读理解能力为主要教学目标的大学英语教学,可不强求学生背诵课文。
This article uses non-English major Chinese students as research subjects, and uses the university’s 4th and 6th grade examinations as measuring tools to carry out experimental research on recitation strategies. After 18 weeks of experimentation, it was found that memorizing texts had no significant effect on improving students’ grade 6 performance. According to the experimental results, combined with the characteristics of memorization, the major teaching objectives of non-English majors in college English teaching and the characteristics of undergraduates’ English learning, the conclusion is drawn to the development of English teaching as the main teaching goal in the cultivation of English reading comprehension ability. Students recite the text.
