大黄沙沙丘遗址位于深圳大鹏湾一个小海湾内的沙堤上,行政上属于深圳市宝安县葵涌镇。西北距土洋村0.6公里,东北距葵涌镇1.2公里,北距公路0.23公里。公路北侧为农耕地,南侧与遗址之间是养鱼塘。遗址处于两丘之间,面积近1万平方米,海拔高约7米,地形呈西高东低的倾斜状。南临大海,沿海滩沙层向海面斜坡成陡崖状,系因大规模人工取沙所致。海滩沙质细软,水下岸坡平缓,整个海湾处于两个向海中突出的岬角之内。遗址背倚古泻湖平原,东侧有葵涌河自北向南蜿蜒入海,遗址正处于河流入海口西侧。因此处黄沙堆积厚,故名大黄沙(图一)。1981年,深圳博物馆曾对此遗址进行过调查。1988年5~6月,深圳博物馆与中山大学人类学系联合对遗址进行了试掘,开
The site of the Great Yellow Sand Dunes is located on the sand embankment within a small bay in Mirs Bay, Shenzhen, administratively belonging to Kwai Chung Town, Bao’an County, Shenzhen. 0.6 kilometers away from Tuyang Village in the northwest, 1.2 kilometers away from Kwai Chung Town in the northeast, and 0.23 kilometers to the north from the highway. North side of the road for farming land, between the south and the site is a fish pond. The site is between two mounds, covering an area of nearly 10,000 square meters, about 7 meters above sea level, the topography of the West-East-low tilt. South of the sea, sand beach along the beach slope into the sea into a cliff-like, due to large-scale artificial sand due. The sandy beach is soft and sandy, with gentle shoreline. The entire bay is in two promontories prominently located in the sea. Relics of ancient sites on the ancient lagoon plains, east of Kwai Chung River from north to south meanders into the sea, the site is located in the west of the river estuary. Therefore, the accumulation of yellow sand thick, named rhubarb sand (Figure I). In 1981, Shenzhen Museum had conducted an investigation of the site. From May to June 1988, the Shenzhen Museum and the Department of Anthropology, Sun Yat-sen University jointly conducted a trial excavation of the site.
