盆栽桃树,春花秋果,既可观赏,又可食用。在亭院、阳台、屋顶等,具备充足光照条件,就可栽植,对实现立体绿化、美化、改善生态环境,增加水果供应,都有一定作用。1984年用京红、早久保、沙子早生等普通品种,实生苗作砧木(毛桃砧也行)进行芽接,1985年春以芽接半成苗栽植100盆,每盆容积为12.41升,进行研究。通过盆栽管理,使树体矮化、提早开花结果,达到接芽萌发当年成形成花,苗龄一年开始结果,结果株率达100％。1986年平均单盆产量500克以上,最高1025克、最大果重275克。
