This paper conducts a study of the Victorian poet Robert Browning＇ s famous poem Pippa＇ s Song from the perspective of transitivity in Halliday＇ s functional grammar, with the aim of finding out how the aesthetic effects are expressed by the words the poet chose and the way he arranged the words.
