20世纪前期,石印、珂罗版等影印技术在中国的普及给书法领域带来一场革命,但这场革命的内容并不仅仅是精确复制这么简单,它还带来了一系列新的书法出版门类,如碑帖单行本、书法全集、各类书法工具书、新式书法史等,这在极大程度上丰富了书法欣赏和取法视野的同时,也在极大程度上改变了书法学习的方式。这样看来,在分析20世纪书法媒介传播变迁的同时注意于这一系列转化背后的文化逻辑,以及这种逻辑在多大程度上反过来影响了20世纪书法风格的变迁,就成为今天重新理解20世纪书法史过程中不可或缺的重要环节。
