As an environmental stressor, noise can cause some reactions in the body’s nervous system and the endocrine system, especially the sympathetic-adrenal system. The impact of noise on blood pressure and blood catecholamines concentration has been more reported, but the previous studies are mainly in the high-frequency noise. In view of the widespread existence of low-frequency sound sources such as boilers, cars, ships and highways in the living and working environment, people are also paying close attention to their influence in recent years. To this end, we conducted an experimental study of the effects of low frequency noise (49 Hz base frequency) on the blood pressure of guinea pigs and the content of vanilloid mandelic acid (VMA) in urine under laboratory conditions.
