The “Code for Design of Railway Tunnels” promulgated in 1960 was compiled on the basis of the “Technical Specification for Designing Mountain Ridges and Tunnels” (Ty-T2-56) of the Soviet Union in 1956. The rules on concrete and stone lining strength calculation formula from the Soviet Union, “Concrete Structure Design Standards and Technical Specifications” (HITTy-4-49) and “masonry and reinforced brick masonry design standards and technical specifications” (HITy -120-55). This set of calculation method is based on the experimental study of the Soviet Institute of Industrial Architecture in the 1930s.
