Coronary heart disease is one of the most common diseases. Therefore, finding and developing effective drugs for preventing and treating coronary heart disease is an important issue in drug research. Since the second half of 1977, the department has cooperated with the pharmacological and biochemical teaching and research group to conduct research on the prevention and treatment of Chinese herbal medicine for coronary heart disease. We consider to look for and screen samples from the following two aspects: (1) Plants of the same genus or related genus of Chinese herbal medicines that are clinically effective in the treatment of angina pectoris with coronary heart disease; (2) Traditional Chinese medicine believes that it has the functions of promoting blood circulation, removing blood stasis, and activating aromas. Chinese herbal medicine. On this basis, and necessary experimental research. Salvia miltiorrhiza Bunge is the dry root of Salvia plant Salvia miltiorrhiza Bunge. Its water-soluble site injection has a significant effect on coronary heart disease angina and myocardial infarction [1, 2]. Shanghai No. 9 Pharmaceutical Factory and Shanghai No. 1 Medical College Herbal Chemistry Teaching and Research Group first isolated protocatechualdehyde [3a,b] from the water-soluble part of Salvia miltiorrhiza. The Department of Pharmacology, Jiangsu Medical College’s Department of Pharmacology observed that protocatechuic aldehydes from Ilex chinensis Sims had strong coronary artery dilatation [4]. This result suggests that protocatechuic aldehyde may be an active ingredient of Danshen that acts on coronary heart disease. Based on this, we collected 19 species of Salvia plants and crude drug samples (including Salvia miltiorrhiza and one undetermined species) for pharmacological screening of their water-soluble sites and examined the protocatechuic aldehydes in these plants by thin layer chromatography. distributed. This article reports the results of this study.
