How ancient Chinese poetry took place in the early stage and how the development of the ancient Chinese poetry affected the cultural connotation and the external environment for its operation had always caused headaches in academia. Although there have been some related research results, most of them are fragmented, and some are even outdated in their perspectives. They are not systematic or in-depth enough. Recently, Professor Zhang Shuguo’s book Religious Ethics and the Study of the Forms of Ancient Chinese Sacrifices in Ancient China conducted a systematic exploration of the above issues. In many places, it can be described as a masterpiece of studying ancient poetry.
