Electric upsetting process is widely used in manufacturing industries such as automobile, tractor, tank and diesel locomotive. In recent years, it has been gradually developed into the sector of aeroengine and used in the manufacture of blank for engine blade forgings. West Germany once used the electric upsetting process to carry on the metal agglomeration of the 44.5 mm diameter and 300 mm long titanium alloy bar for the forging fan blade blank.
