孙叔敖(公元前约630年至前前593年),楚国历史上最著名的政治家。孙叔敖出生在郢都北海子湖边白土里(今荆少市荆州区纪南镇雨台山附近),祖父曾官拜楚成王今尹,父亲任楚国司马。少年的,孙叔敖外出游玩,遇到了两头蛇,当时风俗认为,看见两头蛇不吉利,遇此蛇者必死。孙叔敖担心此蛇还会被人遇上,为了不再让人看见这条蛇,他杀死了它,并把它埋入山丘。回到家,他向母亲诉说了这件事,母亲说;“你为大家除了害,做了好事,是不会死的。”孙叔放的品德受到族人的称赞。
Sun Shuao (about 630 BC to 593 BC), the most famous politician in Chu history. Sun Shou Ao was born in Baidu Beihai Zi Lake (now Jingshao Jingzhou District, South Town Yuntai nearby), his grandfather had worshiped Chucheng Wang Jin, his father was Chu Sima. Juvenile, Sun Shu Ao go out to play, encountered two snakes, then the custom that see the two snakes inauspicious, in case of snake who will die. Sun Shou Ao worried that the snake would be met, in order not to let people see the snake, he killed it and buried it in the hills. When he got home, he told the mother about it, and her mother said, “You do not harm but do good deeds for everyone, and you will not die.” Sun Shouping’s character was praised by the tribe.
