随着VXI系统的广泛使用,一种更大的总线系统MXI也已在美国等工业发达国家出现。MXI bus(Multisystem Extension Interface bus)即多系统扩展接口总线主要使用多个VXI系统间的高速通信。它采用多路并行结构,具有32bit的地址和带极性的数据通道,对多地址空间的5bit变址地址,单级多控者优先权总线仲裁,单根共享线的中断,在系统暂停错误时的操纵及挂钩线异步操作能力,可进行8bit、16bit、32bit的读写操作及数据块传输,数据率可达20Mbyte/s。
