1986年国家教委制定的小学语文教学大纲指出:小学语文是基础教育中的重要学科,不仅具有工具性,而且具有很强的思想性。根据小学语文的这一性质,我们组织了《詹天佑》一课的教学,取得较好的效果。具体做法如下。第一步,教师在要求学生充分预习的基础上设计了如下问题:詹天佑是一个什么人?本文写了他什么时候、做了一件什么事?在学生回答的基础上教师介绍了时代背景和指导学习生字词。第二步,教师着重指导学生分析作者是怎样写詹天佑“杰出”、“爱国”的。(分段讲课文)
