目前,不少工厂已經采用了热风化铁爐。由于各厂的具体条件不同,所以热风裝置的形式也是多种多样的,就已了解到的几种形式来看,可归納为以下四种类型: 1.空气予热器置于化铁爐烟囱中,利用化铁爐爐气的物理热及化学热予热空气。 2.空气予热器置于化铁爐外,利用化铁爐爐气的物理热及化学热予热空气。 3.空气予热器置于化铁爐外,不利用爐气热量,而在单独的燃烧室中燃用固体或气体燃料予热空气。 4.空气予热器置于化铁爐外,将爐气自裝料口以下吸出井导入特设的燃烧室中,在燃烧室中补充燃烧固体或气体燃料,利用爐气及附加燃料的綜合热量予热空气。以上四种类型的热风裝置,在使用上各有优劣。
